Mr. Arun Kumar Mehta (Roll No. 16CH92R02), Research Student, Department of Chemical Engineering, has won the Best Poster Award (first prize) at the DBT National Workshop on Bioenergy held at IIT Roorkee during July 6-7, 2018, for his poster titled "An integrated pilot scale process for high density microalgal cultivation and rapid harvesting in photobioreactors". The certificate is attached. His Supervisor is Prof. Saikat Chakraborty and Joint Supervisor is Prof. Gargi Das, Dept. of Chemical Engineering.

Fluoride removal (100 L/hour) in one Mithila Primary School, Kamaladanga village, Bankura

Low cost Fluoride removal material was developed from ongoing DST funded "UCW" project and the demonstration unit was funded from Abdul Kalam Innovative Fellowship project (ATN). Inauguration was attended by District Executive Engineer (PHED, Gov. of West Bengal), Panchayet Pradhan, School committee members, villagers, gurdians of students with their wards, etc.

Nomination for Associateship - 2018

Nomination of scientists for selection as Associate of the Academy during the year 2018

A. Eligibility: Scientists should be not more than 35 years of age i.e., born after 31.12.1983. Other details can be seen in the write up provided in the Annexure 1.

B. How to nominate: The nomination should be made online as per the following prescribed procedure.

(i) Register for an account, by clicking on the following link:


(ii) Once you create an account, you will receive an email with a link to upload the completed nomination form. In this process, nomination papers need to be uploaded directly by the proposer along the guidelines attached here.

As the selection process has to be completed by June 2018, I shall be grateful if you could kindly nominate with supporting papers in the said link on or before 30 April 2018
