Patent Portal aims to simplify the process of patent filing by students as well as the professors who have done some substantial research within the Institute. In this portal, any student who has done some work that they find patentable (only after extensively searching that no such thing exists) can submit their abstracts which shall directly be verified by the IPR Department of the Institute.
To use the portal, a student needs to first register into the portal and then login. After this, he/she can submit the abstract and then wait for it to be verified by the IPR Department. This can take a few days as it will be extensively checked for similarities and patentability. After this, the IPR department will either approve, reject the document or it may suggest a few improvements and ask the student to re-submit the document. If approved, the student will be asked to fill up the detailed patent application form.
